Ideally, I like to have an introductory meeting with a potential client to review their current living situation. I will then make some recommendations of available housing communities and help determine the best options available. Consideration will be given based on an individual's health, family and other pertinent lifestyle preferences.
The decision to make a move can often become very complex and emotional. Almost everyone hopes to age in place but this can often become difficult as one's health begins to decline. If aging in place is desirable there may be ways to modify the environment to reduce safety risks. However, if the current property no longer meets ones needs or becomes too expensive to upkeep I can help identify alternative living options.
As someone who has gone through this process with both my parents and in-laws, I have had personal on-the-job training in this specialized niche. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping others as they approach this phase. I advise my clients as they weigh the best options for their current living needs. We will also assess transitional and long term aspects of a new location with consideration of anticipating tomorrow’s continued needs.

Once a new housing solution is found it often becomes necessary to sell an existing family home. I will then get to work to help make this process as smooth as possible by putting together a plan with the seller(s)/family to ease the emotional and physical challenges ahead. Often downsizing involves intense de-cluttering and cleaning of both personal and property effects. In addition, to prepare for the market, cosmetic and minor functional updates may be necessary. Lastly to make the home appeal to a vast array of potential buyers staging is often recommended. My team of experts can help with each step along the way. I also have a network of financial and legal advisors to help with the financial considerations involved with elder care necessary to position an individual for a worry free move.
